La icónica escultura El Beso del maestro Víctor Delfín nació de una historia real vivida en las calles de Miraflores. Cuando el artista viajaba en taxi junto a una acompañante, ambos estuvieron a punto de darse un beso, pero la mirada incómoda del taxista impidió ese momento. Minutos después, al llegar a un parque de Miraflores, ocurrió algo similar: una pareja dejó de besarse al sentirse observada. Esa experiencia inspiró al maestro a crear un espacio donde las personas pudieran expresar el amor libremente, sin miedo ni vergüenza.
Al día siguiente, Víctor Delfín realizó el primer boceto de El Beso, una obra inspirada en el amor, la libertad y la conexión humana. Tiempo después, el entonces alcalde de Miraflores visitó la Casa Taller Víctor Delfín y eligió esta obra para convertirla en una escultura pública monumental. La pieza fue ampliada a gran escala e inaugurada en 1993 en el famoso Parque del Amor, convirtiéndose en uno de los lugares más románticos y visitados de Lima y del Perú.
